We live in exciting times. Never before in history has society reached the moment when it constructs a digital system that exhibits functional behavior similar to what we call intelligence. Join this masterclass (in English) by Emile Aarts. Limited seats are available!
Some of us call this moment 'singularity', because it will drastically change the way people interact with digital systems. Examples are: cars without a driver, robots for home automation, personal lifestyle coaches, smart business analysis and virtual reality systems. These developments have been made possible by the devastating growth in computing power, the abundant availability of data and the fascinating new smart algorithms for effectiveness. You could view them as a 'disruptive' development because they were unthinkable and out of reach ten years ago. But from another point of view, this is just a simple evolution. Let me explain why.
In the seventies, digital innovation focused on the automation of business systems through the use of relational databases and workflow systems; those were the days of IBM, SAP and Microsoft. Around the turn of the century, the introduction of the ubiquitous internet in combination with portable devices and tablets enabled the development of search engines and large-scale personalized services; think of Nokia, Cisco and Google. In recent years, digital evolution in software systems has led from programming to learning, bringing artificial intelligence within our reach; companies such as Apple, Amazon and Facebook entered our lives.
What does this mean for you and your company? The answer is simple and terrifying. Artificial intelligence is not something special that is only interesting for high-end, high-tech companies. It is not something that is not yet useful for the wider population of regular companies. It quickly becomes common practice...also for your company. That is why you must learn about it and discover what it can mean for you and your company. It is here and now, and you can benefit from it...it is 'hail or fail'!
This masterclass is given by:
Emile Aarts (former Rector Magnificus Tilburg University, Chief Science Officer Philips)
During the masterclass, the sense and nonsense surrounding A.I. will be discussed, in which the complexity but also enormous potential for companies is discussed.
Monday March 9

13.00 - 17.00 Masterclass including a break
17.00 - 18.00 Drinks and networking
This seminar is made possible by JADS, Jheronimus Academy of Data Science
Data Science is becoming increasingly important to find answers to the challenges of our time. The Jheronimus Academy of Data Science (JADS) is a unique concept in the Netherlands. Data Science can be studied, researched and applied at three different locations (TU Eindhoven, Tilburg University and JADS Den Bosch). JADS offers bachelor and master programs, PDEng education, and participates in existing ecosystems. JADS was specifically created to provide the business community with high-quality scientific knowledge that is crucial in our current digital economy.
