You live in an exponential era. It’s time to look with “new eyes” to the world around you and the empowerment you have to change and innovate our economy & society by rethinking and reprogramming legacy processes using the new building blocks the Internet-of-Everything will offer. The Internet must be made ready to handle trillions of new interactions between people, processes, data and things, whilst being intelligent, secure, open and programmable. You have the opportunity (or obligation?) to be involved. The world needs an update and need everyone of us to lead.
14.30 - 15.00 Break
15.00 - 16.00 Workshops.
16.00 - 16.30 Quantum Computing: from qubit to accelerators
Koen Bertels, founder QuantumForce and professor TU Delft
My current scientific research focuses on quantum computing and more specifically on the definition and implementation of a scalable quantum micro- and system architecture. This involves specifying what the micro-architectural support is for the control of the quantum instructions and how the quantum accelerator is connected and integrated in a larger system design where classical logic is combined with quantum logic. There are two dimensions that are being followed: the first is to define and develop the micro-architecture for the experimental quantum chip. This work is basically done, and we need to expect a higher number of qubits.
The second dimension wants to focus more on quantum accelerators and how they can be implemented in any quantum accelerator technology. That work is based on the full-stack definition that the QCA lab has defined and developed.
16.30 - 18.00 Drinks and bites
After you registered yourself for the event, soon you will receive an e-mail to subscribe yourself for the workshops. Be inspirered by the workshops we've selected:
Photonics: what can it mean to you? – SMART Photonics & PhotonDelta
Johan Feenstra, CEO of SMART Photonics and Ewit Roos, CEO of PhotonDelta give a glimpse into the kitchen of integrated photonics and Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs) in this interactive break-out. For which problems does this technology offer a solution, which products already exist and which lie ahead. Examples of applications in medical practice, agri-food and of course the data centers are shared with you. SMART Photonics is the company where the PICs are manufactured. A complicated process full of challenges that Johan will talk about. Of course, the market opportunities are also discussed and the way in which the Netherlands has decided to give a strong impulse to the industrialization of integrated photonics. Ewit will therefore respond to the task of PhotonDelta to realize the solid national ambition. Of course, this session also offers plenty of room for questions and comments. We hope for a lively debate with many examples and perhaps ideas for new and promising applications!
Co-designing new scenarios for smart & vital cities – imec the Netherlands
What comes to mind when we ask you what it means to build a smart city? A smart city is not just about implementing smart technologies in your city, it is about keeping cities healthy places to live in. During this workshop we work towards designing new scenarios of healthy and livable cities in this era of increased urbanization and globalization. Subscribe for this workshop and let’s together co-design a truly smart city.
AI for everyone - FruitPunch AI
This will be an introduction to the AI landscape that will help you to see beyond the hype. There will be a live demonstration of training a neural network. We will also explain how a simple AI algorithm works. Finally, you will learn tips on how you can start utilizing AI in your own company.
Secure us to secure me without getting lost in the DARQ – Accenture
Leading businesses of today are operating in their ecosystem to deliver best-in-class products, services, and experiences. Interconnectedness with partners will soon dramatically change due to disruptive technologies like distributed ledger technology, artificial intelligence, extended reality, and quantum computing. But, while businesses will be part of a vast and intricate information flow, their intellectual property and proprietary information must remain secure. In this session we will explore the upcoming DARQ technologies, the impact on your business ecosystem, the new threat landscape, and how to securely operate in the future.
The technology behind LiFi - Signify
In this workshop, Jean-Paul Linnartz explains the technology behind wireless optical communication, often called LiFi. While the radio spectrum is becoming overly congested and WiFi connections often suffer from competing interfering transmissions, communication via light can deliver a better and smoother Quality of Service. LiFi can accommodate many users, each of whom can use a spectrum that is orders of magnitudes wider than the entire spectrum available for radio communication, and reuse it simultaneously in every room. Recently, an ITU standard was released to ensure interoperability of various LiFi solutions and to trigger further interest from chip makers to allow integration into devices. Based on thus standard, Signify launched LiFi products that run at speeds of 250 Mbit/s.
Making 5G real - VodafoneZiggo & Ericsson
The 5G hype around the globe is peaking. However, much is unknown about the transformative potential the technology can bring. 5G networks are being rolled out globally and in many countries, live networks drive new use cases. During this session VodafoneZiggo and Ericsson aim to inspire you to think of potential application in your business and welcome you on this innovative journey in a hyperconnected world.
You will get insights on the 5G facts and experiences we have as two global operating companies. Also, we’ll demonstrate how we make 5G real in the region of Eindhoven, where we launched the biggest 5G pilot of the Netherlands.

Reinventing with AI - IBM
Knowledge is captured in a variety of sources across the organization, often including non-structural data. The challenge is unlocking the insights within such knowledge and data, and to create value for the company. At IBM we are helping companies to use the power of AI to extract meaningful insights from years of dense and complex data enabling fact-driven decision making on difficult challenges or in everyday processes, helping answer tough questions faster. We will show how IBM puts AI to work and demonstrate examples where AI helps building corporate experience and knowledge.
