Campus Technology Seminars are a great meeting place for experts in- and outside High Tech Campus Eindhoven. It provides a forum where professionals can share information, knowledge and experience with each other. Everybody who's interested is welcome to listen, learn and discuss several topics!
The UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were agreed in 2015 as a blueprint for a sustainable world to be achieved by the year 2030. The seventeen goals cover economic, societal and environmental issues including ending poverty and hunger, providing quality education, reducing inequalities, conserving marine ecosystems and acting on climate change.
In this seminar, three Campus companies tell about their ambitions and actions regarding the Sustainable Development Goals. To create a better world together.

11.50 – 12.10 Juliette Gaussem, Signify
Juliette Gaussem is the Sustainability Reporting Manager of Signify, a world leader in connected LED lighting products, systems and services. “Our world is increasingly feeling the pressures of population growth, resource scarcity and climate change. The SDGs provide a framework for society to take action and drive change. Signify aims to play an important role in achieving these goals. With our innovations we unlock the extraordinary potential of light to improve the quality of people's lives and to work towards a sustainable future.” In her presentation, Juliette will detail Signify’s ambition and contributions to the achievement of the SDGs.
12.15 – 12.35 Huub Waterval, Nextview
Huub Waterval is the founder and CEO of Nextview and holds a position as the Impact Chair in the Board of the Entrepreneurs Organization. Nextview's mission is "Designing Business as a Force for Good", combining Design Thinking with Salesforce Consulting to create positive impact for clients through innovative technological solutions. Nextview employs around 75 people and has two Design Thinking Centers, one in Amsterdam and one at the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven. Nextview is also a Partner of Plastic Whale, the first professional Plastic Fishing company in the world, and a founding partner of the DesignWeek@School Foundation.
Huub will address three topics: 1. The Return On Business of Social Entrepreneurship and his personal experiences with creating a purpose driven company 2. The impact of some breakthrough examples Nextview has been contributing in the past years 3. The importance of the use of SDG's as lenses to create focus and inspiration
12.40 – 13.00 Maurice Geraets, NXP
“As technology company, NXP provides enabling technology that addresses many societal challenges with solutions for e.g. mobility, health, banking, communication, security. Societal challenges are well clustered in the ambitious SDG’s. With new innovations NXP supports the realization of the SDG’s, and is at the same time active in incorporating the SDG’s in its own organization and operations across the globe. Maurice will illustrate this in his presentation with a few examples.”
