We will develop key components of the RF transceiver that with extremely small volume, in the order of few mm2 for implantable applications. In such design, many external components may need to be removed or integrated on-chip, e.g., battery, PMU, or even antenna.
What you will do
External components are indispensable components in wireless communication but limits the size reduction of the overall wireless module. Many applications, e.g., capsule endoscopy, need a complete integration for small-size RF transceiver, which cannot afford to employ any bulky external components (e.g., de-cap, filter, etc). To realize a miniaturized transceiver, a zero-BOM transceiver design will be investigated in this project.
